At its first meeting of 2009 the l Parents’ Association presented Headteacher Stuart Robinson with a cheque for £22,924.00. The funds will be used to pay for a wide range of items requested by departments at the school, including costumes for the dance department, a printing press, computers, microscopes, cameras, equipment for the school’s Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme and games for the after school club. The total includes a contribution of £2000 towards an Ad Lucem book fund, which will acquire new books for the library in the new St Bart’s building, and £2000 towards a sculpture project, also related to the new school.

Stuart Robinson said he was delighted that the Parents’ Association members hard work had resulted in such a significant contribution to school funds, adding that the items that would be bought would make a real difference to students.

During the meeting Andrew Cooper completed his term as PA chairman to be replaced by Richard Deal (holding cheque, on the left).
